Puppy Training and Adult Dog Training
We understand that not only every dog is different, but dogs in different stages of their lives and development should be trained differently. Whether you have a puppy who is just learning what the world is about, or an adult dog with or without problematic behaviors that need to be corrected, we will take care of it.
A few factors to take into account are:
History: A puppy will always be like a blank slate, they just got here and they are eager to learn! However, they may be harder to train because they are earlier in their developmental stages. Adult dogs, on the other hand, may have different histories of socialization, negative behaviors, etc. Our job is to identify these and tailor our training to the dog’s needs.
Size: This one is pretty self explanatory - puppies are small! It’s a lot easier to teach a small dog to not pull on the leash when walking than a huge adult Great Dane! This doesn’t mean that puppies don’t have their difficulties - since they are very young, they are also just now learning to walk (and are easily distractible!)
Immune system: We have to be very careful when training puppies, especially in groups, since it’s not recommended to do it before they have all their shots. They are also generally more vulnerable to diseases and this should be accounted for in training. At Dog Training Cheyenne, we have experience with dogs of all ages so you don’t have to worry!
